An interlayer is “sandwiched” between two pieces of toughened glass should the glass suffer a breakage, the interlayer ensures that the piece of glass remains in place eliminating the risk of harm from shards or large pieces becoming displaced.
Architects and builders are constantly specifying laminated glass as it provides the strength & stability of toughened safety glass whilst improving safety by retaining all broken shards when breakage occurs.
