Project Brief
Martin and his team, who had renovated the property, were initially going to fit the frameless glass balustrade system themselves and contacted us to supply the system. After going through the install with martin he decided it was best that our team installed the frameless glass balustrade system.
Initial Consultation
We met martin on site and went through all the available options. The objective was a system that wouldn’t obstruct any of the beautiful views from the bedroom window and balcony. Martin had also requested for the glass to match size to match the existing windows and doors in size which wasn’t a problem. The steel structure that had been put in place was perfect for a side fixing frameless glass balustrade system and 17.5mm toughened and laminated glass.
Ordering & Installation Process
Before ordering the frameless glass balustrade system we had to solve one small issue, the customer was concerned that if we were to fit the balustrade system directly to the side of the balcony that the water had nowhere to go so, we had aluminium spacers made to give us a small gap between the aluminium track and the steel cross members which then allowed the water to disperse with no issues. Once all measurement’s had been taken the order had been placed. To order we require a 50% deposit upfront to begin the glass making process as the order is bespoke to your property. As soon as the glass arrives, we then deliver to site and start the installation.
Project Hurdles?
The only hurdles that we came across when installing the frameless glass balustrade system was to add the packing plates in to allow the water to disperse correctly.

Installation Process
After all the preparation work has been complete leigh had the go ahead to install the balustrade system.
Stage 1
When installing a frameless glass balustrade system, the aluminium tracks come in either 3 or 6 metre lengths so we cut these down to required size ready for fixing.
Stage 2
Once the aluminium track had been cut to length, we then use a double-sided Velcro tape to stick the track to the side of the steel cross member allowing us to level and mark all the holes ready for drilling.
Stage 3
The holes are then drilled and the track is attached using a nut and bolts with thread lock.
Stage 4
The frameless glass balustrade system is now ready for us to install the 17.5mm toughened and laminated glass. The glass is then placed into holding clips and fixed into place.
Final stage
Once the 17.5mm toughened and laminated glass is installed we then add the rubber gaskets, cover strips and clean everything thoroughly.
